AMD finally launched a line of new-generation FX series processors based on the architecture they Vishera. Vishera architecture offers higher computing performance than the Bulldozer architecture. Vishera FX processor is built on the 1.2 billion transistors with 32 nm fabrication process and a wide 315 mm ² die processor. As processors Bulldozer FX, FX Vishera module consists of 4 pieces with 2 processor cores for each module. Total number of L2 cache of 2 MB per module (total of 8 MB) and L3 cache of 8 MB. Instruction includes FX Vishera SSE/2/3/S3/4.1/4.2/4A, AVX, AES-NI, FMA/FMA2/FMA3, XOP, and F16C.
Vishera FX processors support DDR3 memory with dual-channel configuration. Maximum capacity is 64 GB of memory with a memory speed of 1866 MHz. The processor is still using a socket AM3 + processors that retains compatibility with AM3 + motherboards currently available. Of course, to use this processor on a motherboard BIOS update is needed.
With a price range like that, how Vishera FX processor performance if we compare it with Intel Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge at the same price class?
